I know it's a wee bit passed the deadline, but I still hope it's okay to post what I had gotten done and completely forgot to post. :)

11. bend “Why do you have to do these things? You keep pushing, Jack. I’m breaking. Why can’t I be enough for you?” James questioned as tears came to his eyes.

15. boundaries “Learn your place in the world, Mr. Sparrow. The sea is not a free place anymore,” the Commodore spoke sincerely to the snickering pirate captain.

16. break Jack beat his head against the surface of the table he laid on, moaned in unbearable pain, and squeezed James’ hand as the surgeon inspected the grotesque, wounded calf of the pirate.

18. buttons The dirty fingers began at the top button of the nervous Commodore’s shirt; Jack proceeded slowly downward with an enticed smile gracing his lips.

19. calm For a man who feared death, Jack Sparrow was unspeakably tranquil as he lay on the deck of his ship, bleeding freely onto Norrington’s hand that was held firmly to the bullet wounds.

22. cards “I win again,” James said smugly. “Please remove another article of clothing, Captain Sparrow.”

23. catch “This way,” the low, seductive voice directed. It was at last close enough, for James clasped his fingers around an arm and was met with a gentle kiss. Now, he could remove the blindfold.

25. chances “It’s a harsh world; one that rarely gives second chances. Tell me, why should I give one to you?”
“Because I love you, Jamie,” Sparrow whispered, as if embarrassed.

I absolutely enjoyed these. They are very inspirational. I'm particularly fond of number two. It's very romantic. Did you make any more? I would love to read them if you did.

Glad you didn't mind, because I tend to read stuff that was written years ago and I'm sometimes afraid I might annoy writers who've moved on to other fandoms!

Seriously, this is really beautiful.

I am so very sorry for the very late comment and review. Thank you so much for participating and producing such gorgeous work! What an imaginative way to use the one-word prompts.

I love your mini-stories. There is so much imagery and emotion and detail in just one or two sentences. I started to list my favourites but found it was impossible to decide because each one is unique. I think what really makes this work is that there is a lot of variety of emotions here: angst, joy, grief, insecurity, love. Sometimes James is the one who has to open up and sometimes it's Jack. That's why the last one was so powerful - we usually expect Jack to be asking James to prove his love and this time it was the other way around.

Thank you again! Please do post if you write more in the future.

Wow. That's great you found this! And thanks for commenting!

It was definitely hard to have only the one or two sentences; I have a bad habit of turning something short into something very long. :) I haven't thought about this pairing (or any POTC pairing for that matter) for awhile, but I would love to come back and finish these. Maybe one or two more will trickle out sometime. :D
